Working wiht Plasmid Maps

Plasmid map can be highly customized. You can arrange multiple maps on a page, in linear or circular formats. Each map can be moved, resized, scaled, grouped and colored. To modify a plasmid map, you can use the Plasmid Graphics Wizard, the Plasmid Drawing Tools, Context Menus, and Drag/Drop.

To use the Plasmid Graphics Wizard, if you are working on a plasmid map, simply double click on it or select context menu "properties"; otherwise, select the menu Edit|Draw|Vector or the toolbar icon , then click on the area where you want to put the plasmid. The Plasmid Graphics Wizard will popup and direct you through the process of making plasmid map.

To use the Plasmid Drawing Tools, select the plasmid map, then choice a tool icon on the Plasmid Drawing Toolbar as shown in the following:

Properties. Click this icon to show the Property dialog of the map

Single stranded. Click this icon to show a single stranded plasmid

Double stranded. Click this icon to show a double stranded plasmid

Linear plasmid. Click this icon to show a linear plasmid

Circle plasmid. Click this icon to show a circle plasmid

Draw fragment (clockwise). Select this icon and draw a clockwise fragment

Draw fragment (counterclockwise). Select this icon and draw a counterclockwise fragment

Color. Click this icon to change the corlor of plasmid

To use context menu, right-click on a drawing object ( a plasmid, a fragment, or a enzyme site) to popup the menu.

You can drag/drop a plasmid, a fragment, or a enzyme site to adjust their size or position.
