Installation Procedure
This chapter contains stepwise instructions that will guide you throughout the installation procedure.
Before you start installing the software, you should spend a few minutes reading the chapter 'system prerequisites'.
Then, you can proceed with this chapter, taking care to follow the instructions exactly as they are given.
In case you run into problems, do not hesitate to contact AFS customer support.
For a successfull AFS installation the following steps must be carried out :
1) Insert the CD-ROM
2) Run the 'install.bat' script
Inserting the CD-ROM
Insert the CD-ROM disk into the CD-DRIVE with the AFS text visible.
Installing the Software
1) Find a suitable location in your hard disk where to store the AFS files. Within this installation procedure we will use c:\AFS as the root directory for the AFS files.
2) Check the amount of available disk space where to install AFS and verify it against the required space (see system prequisites).
3) Change the working directory to the CD-ROM
e.g D:
Start the 'install.bat' script. The script will guide you through the installation.
e.g install.bat
4) Specify the Hard disk where to store the AFS files
This installation procedure will create a sub directory in this hard disk, called AFS. For example if you choose C: as Hard disk drive the installation procedure will create a sub directory called AFS in it.
Starting up AFS
To start AFS, change your working directory to the Hard disk choosen and go into the sub directory AFS, then just start AFS .
e.g C:
cd AFS
AFS
The first step to do after starting AFS is to go in setup section, and to set SOUND and DISPLAY setup.
