To connect to the shared hard disk from a client machine you must use the NET USE Command: NET USE E: \\computername\HARDDISK or NET USE E: \\computername\C: Note \\computername is the server's node name Before you can connect to the server's printer, the server must first share that printer using the NET SHARE command: NET SHARE PRINTER=LPT1 or NET SHARE LPT1 To connect to the shared printer from a client machine, you must use the NET USE Command: NET USE LPT1 \\computername\PRINTER or NET USE LPT1 \\computername\LPT1 In both examples above, the server must issue the NET SHARE command first. If the NET SHARE command is not issued, then the client will receive the error message: 35h Network name not found.
