Changing the Answer to Reset Property


Each smart card type has an Answer to Reset (ATR) property assigned to it by the manufacturer. You do not need to change this property unless you get a new version of a smart card with an ATR changed by the manufacturer.

To Change the ATR of a Smart Card

  1. Make sure that the smart card with the newer ATR is in the card reader.
  2. Select Smart Cards from the Navigation pane.
  3. Click the icon representing the currently installed card type.
  4. Press Help at any time to view help for the Smart Card dialog box.
